AI Feature Film Festivals 2026-2027: Where to Submit a Feature-Length AI Film
Eight AI film festivals with an open call accept feature-length AI films as of October 29, 2026.
In deadline order: AI M0V1E Film Festival (November 1, online, $1,000 for Best AI Feature Film), WAIFF London (November 17, UK creators only), the World AI Cinema & Creativity Festival in Jaipur (December 5, films up to 180 minutes), AI Slop in Markham, Ontario (December 16, no runtime limit), the Berlin AI Film Festival (December 31, a dedicated Feature AI Film category), WAIFF Los Angeles (January 20, 2027, US creators only), the Cannes Film Awards AI category (last call January 21, 2027) and the WAIFF Cannes Grand Finale (February 15, 2027). We read every listing below on October 29. Only one of the eight, AI M0V1E, names a cash prize for an AI feature.
Why so few AI festivals take features
Most AI film contests are built for shorts. The Artefact AI Film Festival in Paris caps films at 314 seconds. Veritas in Toronto caps them under 7 minutes. Türkiye's T-AIFF caps them at 20. Even generous short-film festivals stop at 40 minutes, which is where the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences draws the line: its rules define a feature as a film running more than 40 minutes. The Cannes Film Awards uses the same split, with shorts up to 40 minutes including end credits and features over 40.
That leaves a feature-length AI film with a short list of places to go. Of the 80 open or upcoming contests in our directory today, we confirmed eight that take a feature, either through a named feature category or through having no runtime cap at all. If you are 60 minutes into a project built in Runway, Kling, Veo or Sora, this page is the whole map.
The work is getting made. Fountain 0, the AI studio run by brothers Ash and Pooya Koosha, premiered the fully AI-generated docudrama Dreams of Violets at the 25th Tribeca Festival on June 10, 2026, in the Special Events program rather than in competition, according to Fstoppers, which reported the film took about three months and roughly $2,000. Earlier in the year, Wolf Pack by Bing He premiered at the first Silicon Valley AI Film Festival on January 10-11, 2026, and was described there as the first feature-length AI film completed by a single creator. The festivals below are where the next films like those get their first screening.
AI M0V1E Film Festival: deadline November 1, 2026
This is the only call on the page with a cash prize written against the feature category. Per the FilmFreeway listing, Best AI Feature Film pays $1,000 plus distribution on the AI M0V1E app, and the category is for films of 40 to 90 minutes. Best AI Series pays $700 and Best AI Short Film pays $500. The three categories are AI Narrative Shorts, AI Narrative Features and AI Narrative Series, and the festival's overall runtime limits run from 3 to 120 minutes.
The late deadline is Saturday, November 1, notifications go out November 15, and the online event is December 12, 2026. The festival is run from California by director Vanessa Mariveles, and the jury listed includes Robert Gaudette, who won both the Runway AI Film Festival Grand Prix and first place at the Reply AI Film Festival this year, plus Sai Praneeth Sirigiri. Our listing notes that cash prizes require uploading the film to m0v1e.ai, so read the distribution terms before you submit a feature you hope to sell elsewhere. Fees vary by deadline tier and are shown at checkout.
WAIFF London: super-late deadline November 17, 2026
The UK edition of the World AI Film Festival has a Feature Film category alongside Short Film, Documentary, Music Video, Advertising and Commercial, Masterpieces, Vertical Micro Series and 3D Worlds. The super-late deadline is November 17, notifications go out November 20, and the event opens November 24, 2026 at Bloomsbury Big Top, 93 Guilford Street in London.
It is open only to UK-based creators aged 13 and up. A Production Journal identifying the AI tools you used is mandatory, non-English films need English subtitles, and there is no premiere requirement. Fees are charged per category; the late tier was £75. The prize is the reason to enter: from 11 winners, the jury picks five works to advance to the WAIFF Cannes 2027 Grand Finale.
World AI Cinema & Creativity Festival (WAICF), Jaipur: deadline December 5, 2026
WAICF has the widest runtime window on this page. Its FilmFreeway rules accept AI-generated, AI-assisted and human-plus-AI films from 1 to 180 minutes, produced between January 2024 and February 2027. Best AI Feature Film is the first of 15 categories, which also include documentary, animation, experimental, screenplay and a student award.
The extended deadline is December 5, notifications go out December 21, and the festival runs January 8-12, 2027 at the Rajasthan International Centre in Jaipur. It sits inside the JIFF and Film Dais network. The listing promises cash prizes of up to ₹25,00,000, but only "depending on sponsorship support and funding availability", so treat that as a ceiling, not a guarantee. Our listing shows feature fees of $70 to $100 by tier.
The paperwork is heavier than most. Every entry must state the AI tools and platforms used, the creative process, the human contribution and the production method, and non-English films need English subtitles. Write that statement once; you will reuse it everywhere else.
AI Slop Film Festival, Markham: final deadline December 16, 2026
AI Slop has no runtime limit and states that features are accepted. The "Final Curtain" deadline is December 16, notifications go out December 23, and Season 2 screens January 23, 2027 at Rumiversal Studio, 2800 John Street in Markham, Ontario. Films must be completed in 2023 or later. You need to describe how AI was used and hold the rights to the AI-generated elements.
The festival welcomes polished work next to meme edits and "beautiful failures", so it is a low-pressure first screening for a feature that is finished but rough. No cash prize is listed.
Berlin AI Film Festival: extended deadline December 31, 2026
Berlin's second edition runs three categories: Full AI Film, Mixed AI Film and Feature AI Film. The FilmFreeway listing says it accepts films of any genre and length that use AI in any part of the creative process, from scriptwriting and image generation to sound design and editing, or that take AI as their subject.
The extended deadline is December 31, notifications go out January 31, 2027, and the festival runs February 16-17, 2027 at Z-Cinema, Bergstraße 2 in Berlin. Fees run $10 to $40 by deadline tier, so even the last tier costs less than most feature categories on this page. The prize has not been announced.
WAIFF Los Angeles and the Cannes Film Awards: January 2027
WAIFF Los Angeles is the US mirror of the London edition. Its nine categories include Feature, it is open to US-based creators aged 13 and up, and a Production Journal of AI tools is required. The regular deadline is November 30 at $45 and the late deadline is January 20, 2027 at $60. The festival runs in late March 2027, and the top five films advance to WAIFF Cannes.
The Cannes Film Awards opened an AI FILM category for the first time this cycle. Features are anything over 40 minutes including end credits. AI use must be disclosed in the end credits or the film may be disqualified. The last call deadline is January 21, 2027 and the event is June 25-27, 2027 at the Olympia Cinema in Cannes, a few minutes' walk from the Palais. When we checked earlier this month, the cash awards did not extend to AI winners, so enter it for the Cannes laurel and the screening.
WAIFF Cannes 2027 Grand Finale: deadline February 15, 2027
The World AI Film Festival's finale screens on April 6-7, 2027 at the Palais des Festivals. Most of its competition is filled by winners from regional editions in cities including London, Los Angeles, Beijing, Seoul, São Paulo and Abidjan. You can also apply directly, but creators from a country with a national WAIFF edition must apply there first. Direct entry fees rise from €15 before November 15 to €30 through January 31 and €60 through February 15.
For a UK or US filmmaker, that makes the route obvious: enter London or Los Angeles, and let the top-five slot carry the film to Cannes.
How to plan a run for one AI feature
Start with the paperwork, because every festival here asks for it in some form. Write a 300-word statement naming each model and its version, for example Midjourney for look development, Kling or Veo for shots, ElevenLabs for voices and Suno for score, then say exactly what you did by hand. WAIFF calls it a Production Journal and WAICF calls it an AI contribution statement, but one honest document covers both.
Cut a version that lands between 40 and 90 minutes. That window fits AI M0V1E's feature category, clears the 40-minute line at Cannes Film Awards and sits inside every other limit on this page. Burn English subtitles if any dialogue is in another language; WAIFF and WAICF both require them.
Sequence by date, then by money. If the film is ready this week, AI M0V1E closes November 1 and is the only cash prize. UK filmmakers should enter WAIFF London before November 17. Then WAICF by December 5, AI Slop by December 16, and Berlin by December 31 at $40. In January, US filmmakers take WAIFF Los Angeles and everyone can add the Cannes Film Awards. Check premiere rules before entering several at once; WAIFF London states it has none.
Of the fees we could see, a feature entry runs from €15 at WAIFF Cannes before November 15 to $100 at WAICF's last tier. If that budget is tight, our free contests page lists the ones that charge nothing, and the Runway Hundred Film Fund, which we cover in its own guide, is the route to explore if what you need is money to finish the film rather than a festival to show it.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which AI film festivals accept feature-length films in 2026?
- Eight open calls accept AI features as of October 29, 2026: AI M0V1E Film Festival (November 1, online), WAIFF London (November 17, UK creators only), the World AI Cinema & Creativity Festival in Jaipur (December 5), AI Slop in Markham, Ontario (December 16), the Berlin AI Film Festival (December 31), WAIFF Los Angeles (January 20, 2027, US creators only), the Cannes Film Awards AI category (January 21, 2027) and the WAIFF Cannes Grand Finale (February 15, 2027). Most other AI contests cap films somewhere between 5 and 40 minutes.
- How long does an AI film have to be to count as a feature?
- More than 40 minutes is the common line. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences defines a feature as a film running over 40 minutes, and the Cannes Film Awards uses the same split, with shorts up to 40 minutes including end credits and features over 40. AI M0V1E's Best AI Feature Film category asks for 40 to 90 minutes. WAICF in Jaipur accepts anything from 1 to 180 minutes, and AI Slop and the Berlin AI Film Festival set no maximum length.
- Is there a cash prize for AI feature films?
- Only one is confirmed. AI M0V1E Film Festival pays $1,000 for Best AI Feature Film (40 to 90 minutes) plus distribution on the AI M0V1E app, with a November 1, 2026 deadline; our listing notes that cash prizes require uploading the film to m0v1e.ai. WAICF in Jaipur advertises cash prizes of up to ₹25,00,000 across categories, but only depending on sponsorship and funding. Berlin has not announced its prize, and the Cannes Film Awards, WAIFF and AI Slop award laurels, trophies or advancement rather than cash for AI features.
- What is the cheapest AI festival to enter with a feature?
- Right now it is WAIFF Cannes, at €15 per work until November 15, 2026, then €30 and €60. After that, the Berlin AI Film Festival: its Feature AI Film category costs $10 to $40 by tier, with the extended deadline of December 31, 2026 at $40. WAIFF Los Angeles is $45 regular and $60 late. WAICF's feature fee runs $70 to $100. WAIFF London's late tier was £75 per category.
- Do I need to disclose which AI tools I used in my feature?
- Yes, at nearly every festival on this list. WAIFF London and WAIFF Los Angeles require a Production Journal identifying the AI tools used. WAICF requires the tools and platforms, the creative process, the human contribution and the production method. The Cannes Film Awards requires AI use to be disclosed in the end credits and may disqualify films that do not. AI Slop asks for a short description of how AI was used. Name each model and version, such as Runway, Kling, Veo, Midjourney or ElevenLabs, rather than writing 'AI tools'.
- How does a feature get into WAIFF Cannes 2027?
- Two ways. Win at a regional edition: WAIFF London (UK creators, deadline November 17, 2026) and WAIFF Los Angeles (US creators, late deadline January 20, 2027) each send five works to the Cannes Grand Finale on April 6-7, 2027 at the Palais des Festivals, and both have a feature category. Or apply directly by February 15, 2027 for €15 to €60, but creators from a country with its own WAIFF edition must apply locally first.
